Description

MS Australia may announce up to two incubator cycles each calendar year. Applications for Incubator Grant Round 1 close 11:59pm AEDT 15 March 2024. The outcome for Round 1 will be announced in June/July 2024, with grants commencing in the second half of 2024. Applications for Incubator Grant Round 2 close 11:59pm AEDT 19 July 2024 with the outcome of Round 2 being announced in October/November 2024.

The number of incubator grants awarded in each cycle will vary depending upon the funding available.  The process of assessing the applications for funding

1. All received incubator applications will be acknowledged.

2. The application will be assigned to a Research Management Council (RMC) member or another Australian qualified reviewer nominated by the RMC.

3. The reviewer will return comments on the application, including strengths and weaknesses, a recommendation as to whether the research should be funded, and an overall score.

4. A small panel of RMC reviewers may be convened to rank the rated applications overall.

5. An outcome communication will be returned to each applicant. Anonymous reviewer feedback can be supplied to the applicant upon request after the result has been advised.

6. Successful applicants accept the funding offer by completing the Funding Agreement.


Instructions for completing the application: Please click on "create submission" button to start your application. The workflow stages are:

1. Complete an online overview form. A unique number will be automatically applied to your application.

2. Upload a research plan using the template available through the hyperlink, complete this offline and upload to the Grant Portal. 

3. Upload an abbreviated CV (up to 4 pages for CIA, combining both a brief CV and publications, free format). Co-applicants may submit up to 2 pages representing a combined cv and publications statement. Complete this offline and upload to the Grant Portal. 

4. Obtaining approval from your institutes Grant Officer.

5. Once your Grant Officer has approved your application, it will be automatically submitted.
